InvisionFree is currently experiencing technical difficulties with multiple servers, including Server 14, where Anything But Ordinary is hosted. Please be patient as they are working on getting all servers back online.

ABO Admins apologize for the multiple collapses as of recently. When we signed up to IF, we didn't realize we'd get the crap server. Although to be honest, IF has gone down (and has had less problems) than Hyperboards. So me personally still loves IF.

If you have any questions and/or concerns, feel free to comment here, or email me either at jaime.luthor@gmail.com or abocrew@gmail.com.

Edited to Add: It is now 10:33pm PST and ABO is back online. However, due to the technicial difficulties, it may be possible that IF goes into maintenance. We should be back to normal tomorrow at the latest.

Thanks.

Server 14 which hosts Anything But Ordinary is currently down at this point. There is no status on it from InvisionFree support. We will keep you updated.

Thanks.

Yes! My program is finally over! It was a stressful last two weeks; hence no entires. I will backdate some entires at a later time of my last two weeks in B.Ed.

We officially finished on August 11, 2006. There was a party at The Roxy on August 10, 2006 in which I did not attend because unlike a lot of people, I had a class to attend the following morning with homework to hand-in. However, I did not miss the impromptu gathering at noon in Korner's Pub on Friday. Neil and I flirted (I really wish I'd kissed him before leaving that day, just to go out with a bang). Sadly, he left before I was drunk enough to do so.

Thank you B.Ed students for a fun year. See you all in November!

So, I've been reminded that I need to do reflections for my Global Ed. class (CUST424). This will be one of my last classes for my program. Even though we only have to hand-in five of the reflections, we are expected to do them every day (but I doubt anyone's doing that). However, today was quite interesting, so I thought I'd note it down.

So I just came home from another wedding... this time, it was a friend's wedding. Unlike last time, this was an ultra long day. It started with the wedding ceremony @ 11am in Surrey (at the golf club where they play the Air Canada PGA Championship) followed by a reception, and then a dinner party starting @ 6pm. Needless to say I was up at the crack of dawn getting ready... hair, nails, makeup and clothes.

I am so tired it's not even funny... I've been in 3 inch heels all day (with the exception of the 2 hour break I had in which I took a one hour power nap)...

It was a weird day too as we had no chance to take any pictures with the bride and groom... I really have no evidence of ever having gone to the wedding except for the invitations, and the pictures with her family members (we're family friends)...

All in all... I'm exhausted. I'm glad this year's round of weddings is over!

Okay, so various things happen today, including the arrival of my Auntie Georgia and Uncle Sung, plus their son Eugene. I was unable to make it to the airport to go get them (but Mom did), so we met at Aberdeen Centre instead. So even though we were planning to eat dinner at 7pm with some family friends, we still had an afternoon snack close to 4pm. Because Auntie Georgia wanted to go home, Mom drove her and my uncle home, while I stayed with Eugene in Richmond.

Now, you're wondering what this has to do with the title of this journal entry... well, that's because dinner at Shanghai River was a reunion of the Ng Family, and seeing Uncle Ken again! He's a 6 foot ball of never ending energy - someone that I met at 4 and found to be a riot. He's awesome. But after graduating from SFU, he left Vancouver, and I've only seen him twice (3 years ago and today) since then. He was just a little shocked taht I'm 22 now. Hee!

Food was amazing, ran into my friend there (who works at the restaurant)... and well, that was my night!

I never thought I would say this of Air Canada, as I've never had trouble flying with them out of Vancouver, even out of Los Angeles for that matter (and LA was a nightmare - incompetent and all). Here was what happened:

5:00 EST - Out of bed.
5:20 EST - Leave Mississauga.
5:40 EST - Arrive Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 1
5:41 EST - Waiting in a line up to drop off my luggage. This should totally not be necessary due to the fact that I've already checked-in online, and the only thing I need to do is drop it off and considering it's not even 6am, there should be no real line up. Why you ask? Because the guy at the only web drop-off counter decided to check-in other fliers (not checked-in online) so time was taken up unnecessarily.
5:45 - 5:50 EST - Waiting in a line for security check. For god sake's people, this is a domestic flight. Let's hurry this up.
5:56 EST - arrived at boarding gate (boarding time was 5:55). Whewph.

I did manage to arrive in Vancouver even early (8:25 - ETA was 8:30) but we sat on the runway for 15 minutes because we couldn't park. Thank god the luggage came out rather quickly.

For two days in a row, I've had decent amounts of sleep with very little interruptions (thank god). So this is what my day looks like today...

12:45 - car arrives to pick me up to the bridal party.
13:20 - arrives at bridal party (house).
16:00 - ceremony at banquet hall.
18:00 - dinner reception.

So before 12:45, my parents and I went to have dim-sum with the friend we're staying with... we got a call letting me know that the car was going to come early, so that meant we had to eat (rather quickly) and get back to the house so I can suit up before heading out. No, my parents didn't go over to the bridal house... I was going to help.

We'll see how it goes...

So we had the pre-wedding family dinner just now... seeing some family members whom I had never met (Arthur, Alan, Jenn & Doug her husband, Auntie Kay & her husband, and Auntie Priscilla), and visiting with others whom I hadn't seen in years. Even Joe & Jackie Lau (friends) were there as well. Dinner was really good, as we had Shanghai food - really good not only Toronto-standard but Vancouver-standard. I was not shocked but pleasantly surprised.

After dinner, we went to get bubble tea, and the prices were shocking. I got a regular (about tall Starbucks) for $5. If it was Vancouver, for the same price, my drink would've been much bigger. It was still a good drink, just kinda expensive.

We then returned to my Uncle Bobby's house (also the home of the bride) to have other desserts, and be witnesses to some very important Chinese traditions. Lots of photos were taken, we (the kids) were having a blast, even though I was tired as hell.

Okay, more to come after the wedding...
